Let’s not forget Dickens’ famous quote:
“Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery.”
Of course, I like Scott’s simpler formation better.
I love the quote also, although over the years, I’ve seen it attributed to Tom Magliozzi of Tom & Ray (Click & Clack) of Car Talk fame.
