Scott Faber’s happiness equation

Was having dinner with my friend Scott Faber last night and he said something very profound … he has an equation for happiness.

according to Scott:

Happiness = Reality – Expectations

this is prety profound and likely very true.

    Let’s not forget Dickens’ famous quote:
    “Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery.”
    Of course, I like Scott’s simpler formation better.

    I love the quote also, although over the years, I’ve seen it attributed to Tom Magliozzi of Tom & Ray (Click & Clack) of Car Talk fame.
