I was just reading your posts on Twitter. The one about having to turn your Kindle off during take off caught my eye as it brings up a question I’ve always wanted to ask: why do some people (you included, presumably) think it’s ok to ignore the airline’s request to turn off all electronic devices during take-off and landing? I frequently see people reading their blackberry or listening to their iPod, blatantly ignoring the request. Yes, I know none of these devices are going to bring a plane down, but don’t these rules apply to all of us equally? Why do some people think the rule doesn’t apply to them? Sorry for the snarky question in an anonymous forum–I’ve just never had the balls to actually ask someone in person.
